Propaganda - Deutsche Luftkriegsbeute Ausstelung (German War Trophies)
Very rare and historically important piece of aviation memorabilia, this is a 1917 German WW1 propaganda poster advertising an exhibition of British air war trophies that was held under the sponsorship of His Royal Highness Prince Heinrich of Prussia The poster shows a German Imperial eagle perched on a torn and bullet-holed roundel of the British Royal Flying Corps (in 1918 the name was changed to the RAF). This is a 2 panel poster with art by Julius Gipkins that has been linen backed in superb condition. Much smaller versions are held by the Imperial War Museum and the Wolfsonian at Florida International University but this is very probably the only surviving example in the world of this size.
