Very rare US 1 sheet that is now generally agreed to have been released late in the 1958 first release run in order to stimulate sales. Although considered for many years to be a 1960 re-release poster, most experts now believe that this was actually part of the supplementary ad campaign to address the initially poor box office figures for the film. The new campaign did the trick and Variety magazine noted an immediate pick up in business due to the more obvious 'sell' elements incorporated in the design. This poster has been linen backed with retouching to the folds. The white borders were also lightly trimmed prior to backing with no loss of text or artwork.
