Original Movie Poster - Carry on Cleo (banned and replacement trade ads)

Two full page trade ads on the front of Kine Weekly from December 1964 and January 1965 featuring the banned and replacement poster designs for Carry on Cleo. Released soon after the blockbuster Cleopatra, featuring Liz Taylor, the Carry On team deliberately provoked a legal case by using a shameless parody of the Cleopatra poster. It worked and Carry on history was made. They were taken to court and the ensuing free publicity was worth a fortune. Needless to say, they redesigned the posters and both styles are listed here. Kine Weekly was the main British trade magazine for the UK cinema industry at this time. These are the two complete original magazines in excellent condition (10 dec 1964 and 21 jan 65).
