Original Movie Poster - King Kong
In 1968 art house film specialists, Janus Films, decided to show the full uncut version of King Kong for the first time. Some of the original scenes depicting the love of a huge gorilla for a scantily clad heroine were considered too risque back in 1933 and were cut to get the film into mainstream cinemas. Janus films commissioned artist Lee J. Reedy of counter-culture outfit Dot Graphics for this suitably suggestive poster. People often forget that King Kong was originally destined for the grind-house sexploitation circuit (like it's predecessor, Ingagi) before focusing on the bigger audiences.
