An inordinately complex man who has been labelled everything from hero, to charlatan, to sadist, Lawrence blazed his way to glory in the Arabian desert, then sought anonymity as a common soldier under an assumed name. David Lean's masterpiece won 7 oscars. This is the rare pre-oscar poster from the film's first year of release, linen backed with airbrushing to white background.
