Le Mepris (Contempt)

One of the great masterpieces of the twentieth century, Jean-Luc Godard directed Fritz Lang and Brigitte Bardot in this film within a film. Bardot was at the height of her popularity in 1963 and this rare partial country-of-origin poster for this french-italian production has some of the most evocative artwork of any country for this title. This is a particularly rare alternative Italian design in a landscape format from the first release in 1963. We have only ever seen this design on the much smaller Belgian first release poster and have never seen another copy of this italian poster.
