Nude on the Moon
Doris Wishman is similar to a number of other cult film directors that include Russ Meyer, John Waters, Herschell Gordon Lewis and Ed Wood. They defied conventions, made films that could not be shown in mainstream cinemas, rarely made any money but were nonetheless hugely influential in shaping what was allowed to be shown on the big screen. Nude on the Moon was a so-called nudie cutie from 1961, a film that avoided censorship by presenting nudity as wholesome naturism – in this case a flimsy plot about a garden paradise on the moon. Without clothes. An important film from an important director. This is from the 1961 first release in the USA, linen backed in superb condition.
