Only Old Men are Going to Battle

An extraordinary and beautiful film from the Ukrainian film studios set in WW2. Although it was made during the height of the cold war this is very far from being Soviet propaganda, though. It's a film about love, loyalty and brotherhood in the face of Nazi fascism. Leonid Bykov directs and stars in one of the outstanding films of the Soviet era and an important landmark for the cinema of the Ukraine. This is from the first Czech release in 1974, during the communist era.
