1930's poster that was sold for use as generic promotional material for annual Christmas pantomimes across England. For those not familiar with British panto tradition, we should point out that the principal boy (in this case Robinson Crusoe) is always played by a girl - hence the depiction here. The illustration of Man Friday, meanwhile, is so deeply politically unsound that we can only wonder at the public mindset of the time. This particular print company produced a range of beautifully made stone litho posters for all the big panto titles. This is a genuine 1930's poster, printed using the stone litho techniques of the time, in Fine condition.
