Thunderball (advance)

The ultimate artwork from any of the Bond films - this is the holy grail for James Bond movie poster collectors. This is the very rare Advance Quad which is the only poster from this film to use the artwork featured on the lower right side by Robert McGinnis and Frank McCarthy. Very few of this poster style were printed making this a rare opportunity. When distributed to cinemas, the local managers were instructed by the studio that they could display it as one quad poster, cut it into two and display it as two Double Crown (DC) posters or cut it into four and display it as smaller single crown posters. The manager of the Drake Cinema in Plymouth (where this poster was used) chose to display it as four single crowns. N.B. This is one of the very few occasions where the poster history is known, because the cinema name and showing times are written on it. These four single crowns have since been conservation backed (three on linen and one on paper).
