The style B design for the UK quad is very rare which makes this Cinerama version the holy grail for this title. Cinerama was a giant wide screen format, the precursor of IMAX, with just a handful of screens across the UK in the 1960's. It was ideally suited for the spectacular racing scenes in Grand Prix which made the cinema goer feel like they were actually on the race track. In 1966, this was groundbreaking stuff. The poster we have was used as a standee counter display within the foyer and was originally supplied mounted on board with a fold flat back stand. Given the very limited number of Cinerama venues in the UK, it's unlikely more than a half a dozen were modified in this way. Needless to say, this one has a fair amount of wear but still looks great and could be restored if the new owner wanted. N.B. this will require a special shipping quote as it can't be sent rolled.
